I now use two plug-in electrical heaters to heat my entire efficiency cottage (30×15 living room……..6×10 kitchen ……..and 4×6 bathroom)……I think it would be much cheaper to install a wall gas unit to heat the entire place……What do you think?
I am redoing my kitchen with white cabinets and I have a maple floor, I was thinking of a soft aqua colored wall, it is a small space with only one window so I am thinking bright. Hoping for a “cottage feel” Definetly not blue or yellow!
I have stainless steel appliances too
Im moving into a cottage with an open plan kitchen and lounge with wooden decking.. How do i give it a good clean before i move in. I also had a bit of a nose itch could this be from the decking
We are having to replace a kitchen ceramic tile floor. My style is country cottage and would love to put wood down but can't afford it and my husband says no to laminate. What options would look good? My cabinets are off white cream color and we have terra cotta tile backsplash with granite looking counter tops that are mostly brown and black. Any suggestions for the flooring?
I am in the process of updating a kitchen with new flooring and need advice. My style is country cottage/french country. We hav decided to put down hardwood and can't make up my mind on the right color tone. While I love the blonde natural Oak color, I fear that it may not look best with my style. My kitchen cabinets and table is a cream color with a black and beige granite look counter top. Please tell me if I should go with the light oak or a darker floor and should I paint my kitchen cabinets some other color.
I want to decorate my bedroom, but I like too many different styles and can't narrow my ideas down. Would love to live in a little stone cottage in England, so thought of wallpapering with stone type wallpaper (and what else?); Already have a very nice comforter with a beautiful deep colored tropical scene (maybe bamboo, etc.); Thought of just doing blue and white (quilt, small white linen covered reading chair, blue walls); and on and on. At this point my brain is spinning. Any ideas? Thanks
I want to redecorate several rooms in my house, but I like different styles for different rooms- cottage, country, traditional- nothing too different but different color schemes and such. Would this look too crazy?
i just bought a two bedroom cottage ,000. Needs a great deal of updating, new furnace, a/c, roof, windows. Kitchen is I would guess from the 40's or earlier. Cabinet doors are thin with the edges rounded off. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
My kitchen is country cottage style (or that's the look I am goin for). Have cream off white cabinets with a granite look alike counter top in browns and blacks. Floor is cream color tile. Backsplash is terra cotta tile. Would white or black appliances look best. With the white, they would kind of blend into the cabinetry more, with black they would stand out more and provide more contrast. Which would look better? Can't afford stainless.
I am designing a house for myself that I love. On the outside it's a cute country cottage but on the inside, it is very high-end, contemporary. It's not SUPER cold and contemporary but still modern, especially the bathrooms and kitchen. The thing that I wonder about is the resale potential. I think that I would be limiting my buyers market buy designing it this For those that want an old world exterior, probably want an oldworld interior. Same thing for those that love modern. They want a modern exterior to go with the modern interior. Would it be a bad idea to do this? Especially for resale? And it will probably catch people off guard when they enter.
