PAINT YOUR WALLS A LIGHT YELLOW AND THEN PAINT A WHITE PICKET T FENCE AROUND THE BOTTOM HALF OF YOUR WALLS ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS MASKING TAPE THE LINE STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN AND THEN PEEK THE TOP WITH TAPE AND THEN PAINT.GO TO THE LOCAL THRIFT SHOPS AND FIND SOME OLD MATERIAL IN BUNDLES FOR CHEAP AND THROW AN OLD SCARF OVER YOUR LAMP SHADE,BUY AN OLD WINDOW AND HANG IT ON YOUR WALL.PUT SOME PLANTS IN YOUR ROOM AND AS YOU GET THINGS JUST KEEP ADDING TO IT,YOU WILL HAVE THE MAIN PART ALREADY THERE.GOOD LUCK!

Well, it really depends on what YOU like.

Here is a suggestion though…on HGTV there is a program (or there was) where they would look through a magazine and would find a room they really liked and then they would go to stores like Wal-Mart or Target or stores (heck, you could even check out local thrift stores) they could afford and purchased elements that were as close as they could get for the room, and then they would arrange according to the picture. They would even use the picture as a reference for paint color and all.

And remember, Target now has a Shabby Sheek line to help make that accessible.

Remember, slipcovers are your friend until you can afford a couch you really like.
