Fave online home decor websites?

July 1, 2009 · 6 comments

Hi there
I am located in Canada, first of all!
I just bought a 130 yr old farmhouse a few months ago. I am currently decorating it, because the previous owners did a great job of renovating it. Some minor things here and there need to be fixed, but overall it just needs some decor.
We just had a baby in July and I am staying home with her. AND we’re paying for our own wedding in September!! So my budget is about 0 to accessorize the entire house. I have all new furniture, so all I really need to do is accessorize. I just bought new towels, but need bedding, wall art, cushions, and little accessories like candle holders, curtains, etc.
Do you have any ideas for me, like DIY ideas, OR a REALLY cheap and still chic website I can check out? has to ship stuff to Canada! Also, my style is sort of modern cottage- I LOVE modern wooden & veneer stuff, farmhouse/cottage, and organic, botanical styles… ideas & websites would be appreciated!!

I love the ideas you get from the better homes and gardens site:

Press on the DYI and Deco section and the Craft section.

There is a good website at http://www.homesecurityandmore.com
It is a sales letter for a budget home improvement kit but you can also sign up for a mini-course full of free tips and ideas. It’s great info!

Good Luck! Big Al

I love Bed, bath and Beyond. I know its a store here in the U.S., but I’m not sure about Canada. Sorry, never been there. But heres the website if you want to check it out.
