Decorating ideas for home built in 1948!?

January 7, 2009 · 3 comments

I am in need of what kind of style to decorate my home in. It has a colonial cottage style on the outside. The inside has curved archways. New laminent pine flooring and white trime. Does anyone have any suggestions on what style I should go with? I do have a lovely arched phone nook that looks from the living room through the dinning room and plan on purchusing an antique rotary phone although the phone jack is a little bit dated. What style should I do with the furniture?

I also love Cottage style furnishings. They're a little less formal than traditional although you can mix them together. Go to the link below and click on different styles and you'll get tons of ideas.

Love decorating that period home. Keep it either traditional…oak or pine wood tables, camelback sofa, high back Queen Anne Chairs, etc. or if you like cottage -craftsman look, that would do well too. Paint the brick fireplace an off white or light grey color and the walls to compliment.

Dude, get your Lucy vids out and actually watch them, don't do old JJ to them—I have the antifreeze any time you want to put a little spice on that pizza.
