Decorating question - I want to do a beach theme for my living room but have deep red furnature. Can this work

October 9, 2008 · 4 comments

I would like to decorate my new home in a beach style…..the kitchen, dining room and bed room are all easy, but I have dark red furnature (sofa, loveseat, chair, ottoman) that are almost new. I can’t afford different furnature right now. Can anyone think of a way to make red furnature work with a beach theme. I thought maybe some dark blues and whites would help it look like a nautical theme. Any other ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

Well for the sofas and stuff you could get sheets that you like to cover them to match your beach theme, if you do not want to do that then you should pick dark beach colors like blues and purples etc….

well if you want it to work you have to make it work anyways it might actually look very good or just good . but if red doesn’t work out i would prefer something sandy of pinkish as the sand on the beach!!!!!!!!!!!! try it out

anyways GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!:)

Sure I think ou can work red furniture into a beach theme… beach themes don’t always have to be pinks and light blues…

Here are some ideas I hope might help you out with some brainstorming! :)

Lots of lighthouses have red/blue/ white color theme. Bring in a soft white, dark blue and a sky blue.
